7. The Sexy Cheerleader Girlfriend

Seojun barely had time to process the soldier’s gruesome end. His golden ratio appearance was like a fleeting work of art. Monster X, the man-eating alien, shook the ex-soldier so violently with its tentacles that his limbs were ripped off. The force was too much – his neck couldn’t withstand the strain and tore off too.

Ultimately, the soldier’s body broke into three pieces. A shocking amount of blood gushed from the severed parts, deeply staining the fresh leaves and dark soil red. Compared to when Johan had stabbed him, even that large amount of blood now seemed a mere trickle versus this torrent.

Having learned the twisted story behind Richard’s skin, Seojun thought he had braced himself for Monster X’s brutality and cruel actions beyond human understanding. He had even managed to wound the monster with Johan’s help. But witnessing the horror directly, he realized how ridiculously they had overestimated their chances.

Feeling completely helpless, Seojun saw no way to defeat such a monstrously huge living, breathing creature of such overwhelming mass.

They had no magical solutions like lemons, nor would Christina magically awaken some mysterious power to fight like an Amazonian warrior princess. They were just exhausted, powerless young adults.

[Kreeshar…]

As Seojun trembled in fear, the monster emitted a low, grating screech from some hidden vocal organ and dropped the soldier’s remains. Oddly, instead of devouring the soldier with pleasure, Monster X rolled the body toward Seojun.

The tips of his dirty sneakers bumped against the soldier’s torso. It was a nightmarish scene. The exposed skin, as if partially digested, appeared dark, bloody, and scabbed – yet it seemed to shine unnaturally bright.

Slowly, Seojun realized it was an illusion cast by the moonlight. The moon shone down in what seemed a mocking way, transforming the horrific corpse for a moment into something resembling a beautiful plaster sculpture. But it was only a fleeting trick of the light.

Just as this realization came to him, an oddly familiar sound filled the air – a hissing, like boiling water or hot iron. A vague unease crept over him… what was making that irritating noise?

“Jun, Seojun. It’s alright. Please breathe. It’s alright.”

A tender voice reached him – Johan, holding him protectively despite the looming threat of the man-eating Monster-X in front of them. Fearlessly, Johan wrapped his arms around Seojun.

“Ah, ahh, uh….”

A bitter pain rose in Seojun’s throat along with the taste of blood. His lungs burned oddly with each strained breath as his eyes welled with hot tears. Clinging to Johan, he bit his lip hard against the sobs rising in his heaving chest.

The one who was pathetically sobbing, overcome by fear and horror, was none other than himself. Johan tightened his embrace around Seojun’s trembling body, which felt almost too frail.

“Jun, look at me. Please?”

The monster crept closer and Gas Mask wasn’t far either. Seojun’s mind was aware of their perilous surroundings, but his body, drained and spent, wouldn’t react, despite Johan’s pleas.

Then, a sudden, mild pain pricked his ear – Johan had gently bitten Seojun’s earlobe and whispered urgently yet softly.

“You won’t die here. Remember the future you, from that time…it hasn’t come to pass yet.”

That time?

It was a strange thing to say. The words confused Seojun. He looked up into Johan’s clear blue eyes.

Johan’s eyes blazed with a fervent faith, almost fanatical in its intensity. But such unwavering devotion could blind like the noonday sun, leaving one dazed and uncertain. Seojun had always found Johan’s words puzzling. But now, gazing into those luminous orbs, he saw past the fiery surface to an inner stillness – which held a purity and calmness.

Seojun tensed like a cornered stray dog. A jolt shot through his spine, reviving numb limbs as if shocked. Suddenly, Johan’s fervor seemed too intense to bear.

Seojun told himself the shudders wracking his body were just out of fear. Surely it wasn’t Johan’s words that had shaken his heart so deeply.

“Johan, catch!”

A shout rang from the open window of the old dorm, something sailing toward them through the ruined glass. With the monster’s destruction, the window frame looked more like a jagged hole than a window.

William frantically pointed towards what he had thrown. Seojun and Johan both looked down. It was the Hamon knife.

Seojun couldn’t help but cry again. Though stained with human blood, the weapon was a welcome sight at that moment. Of course, it probably wouldn’t scratch the flesh of the space-borne monster, but having any weapon was infinitely better than facing that terror empty-handed.

The problem was Gas Mask, having regained his balance, was now sprinting for the knife. Where horror villains found such relentless energy, Seojun didn’t know.

Mustering all his strength from deep within, Seojun shouted hoarsely,

“Golden! Golden, grab that bastard’s leg and don’t let go, now!”

Golden, whose life was seemingly an afterthought in Seojun’s command, screamed and lunged, latching onto Gas Mask’s leg with everything he had. Predictably, Gas Mask responded with a vicious kick – not at his chest this time, but his face met the harsh impact of his heavy boot.

“Argh!”

Golden was flung away, looking rather pitiful. Still, his desperate efforts bought them precious seconds. Taking advantage of the moment Golden had literally clung to Gas Mask’s leg, Johan tightened his hold around the rock he picked up.

Johan’s veins stood out blue as he drew back his arm, stone gripped hard. Despite the awkward shape and weight of the stone, Johan hurled it with such skill that Seojun momentarily felt like he was watching an athlete in action on a sports field.

Sailing in a perfect arc, the rock struck Gas Mask squarely on the head. Shattering on impact, it sent him reeling backward to the ground.

But there was no time to celebrate. Monster X turned its attention toward them now. Of course, Seojun couldn’t tell where its eyes were, or even if it had any, but some shift in pressure told it focused its regard.

It all happened in an instant. Johan had stepped in front of Seojun to block Gas Mask’s charge earlier. He was only a step away from Seojun. But the man-eating monster wasn’t concerned with understanding such brave gestures.

Johan, having just thrown the rock, was exposed and vulnerable. The monster wasted no time – a tentacle lashed out flat, striking his exposed back like a whip. The terrible sound of flesh tearing echoed in Seojun’s ears.

“Ugh!”

Johan hit the ground hard, tumbling while vomiting up blood. Bright red blood poured from his lips. Seojun trembled uncontrollably, shock roiling through him as the dizzying scene unfolded before him.

“Jo-Johan….”

Johan struggled to push himself up, his rapid blinking and head shaking signaling he was far from alright. Blood fell from his nose and lips in steady streams. Seojun, tears flowing freely, tried to step toward him – but his foot didn’t touch the ground.

The monster’s tentacle had gently lifted Seojun by the waist, much like it had done with Airi near the cabin. He wasn’t hoisted high, but the tightening grip of the slimy appendage filled him with an unbearable sense of fear.

Is this how I’m going to die?

As if entranced, he watched a smaller tentacle slithering toward his face. These translucent limbs were different from the ones that crushed human bodies. They were more delicate, and in place of suction cups, they had tiny, bud-like structures inside, resembling taste buds.

“No, don’t! Damn you! Run, Fortune teller! Run away!”

Golden’s frantic screams echoed around them. Even with his lips mangled by Gas Mask’s kick, he continued to shout desperately, spewing blood.

A dreadful realization struck Seojun. This was the same tentacle that had gruesomely devoured Richard from within. Was this the end for his precious intestines, his loyal companions for more than a decade?

Realizing the importance of his unseen organs too late, Seojun struggled with every fiber of his being. However, his body, barely more than bones with muscles and skin, lacked the strength.

“Ah, ugh!”

But it was too late. The tentacle reached his tightly closed mouth, prying it open. Soft wriggling flesh parted lips and pried teeth, sliding within in a rush of foreign fluids and tastes. The slick slurry of slime and unknown fluid assaulted his tongue and senses, so strange and overpowering he almost wished he would pass out.

The tentacle nestled in Seojun’s throat pulsed gently. The sensation was odd and unsettling, yet it strangely reminded him of the times he ate jellyfish. He tried to fool himself into thinking it was just like spicy seasoning on his tongue; without such comparisons, the horror of his organs being sucked out would be too much to bear.

Fear spread through him as if it were smoke or a fine thread, seeping into every tiny crease of his skin. The monster’s tentacle continued its invasion of his mouth, coating his throat with its slimy mucus.

Seojun’s sight grew hazy, and he sensed his energy draining away. His eyes uncontrollably rolled back, with drool spilling from his mouth that was forced open. Not just saliva, but tears and mucus also streaked his face. Even his bladder threatened to betray him, a tingling sensation spreading between his legs.

Faced with such a shameful end, Seojun felt a deep, bitter ache around his heart. He felt heartbroken, realizing the day he would understand Richard in his tragically brief new life had finally come.

“Urgh….!”

Seojun convulsed as the tentacle probed deeper into his esophagus. The moment it touched a spot he never knew had sensation, he nearly wet himself.

T/N: Seojun really is having a nightmare of a night! He’s been through so much already haha ( ;´ – `;)
